CURRIE, Laurence (Laura) Josephine
February 1, 1929 - November 10, 2014
It is with heavy hearts that we announce Laurence (Laura) passed away on Monday, November 10, 2014 at the age of 85 years. Laura met her beloved Doug in East Coulee and married in Drumheller. She was a devoted mother, who enjoyed her family and made a significant difference in our lives. Together Doug and her moved to Bowness and retired later in life back to East Coulee. Mom enjoyed sewing, gardening, painting, and volunteering at the local community centre among her other many hobbies and interests. Laura is survived by her children Carol Owens (Dean), Phyliss St. Dennis, Bruce Currie, Jacqueline Hilchuk (Steve), Thomas Currie (Charlotte), her nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Laura was predeceased by her parents Josephine and Edward Beaudin [and guardians Louis & Sara Larocque (Gosselin)], her beloved husband Doug, her sons Doug & Joe and her brothers Bobby & Joseph. A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Calgary on Saturday, November 15, 2014.
