Wonnacott, William (Bill) Michael

June 16,1949 - November 20, 2015

WiIliam (Bill) Michael Wonnacott was born in Victoria, BC, June 16th in 1949 to Walter and Jill Wonnacott. Of his 2 brothers, Doug and Russ, he was the oldest. After school, Bill got his Heavy Duty Mechanic certificate, and began working for John Deere. Around this time Bill met his first wife, and soon had three children: Leanne, Tina, and Stuart. Ten years later Bill met and married the love of his life, Leigh Wonnacott, and after marriage, had two more boys: Michael and Matthew. Bill and Leigh soon decided to move from Prince George, to Grande Prairie, Alberta. In 1999 Bill and Leigh moved the family to Rumsey to be closer to his father. Rumsey was like heaven to him, all the peace and tranquility. Bill spent the next several years working as the Village Foreman for the Village of Morrin, and volunteering for the Rumsey and Morrin Fire Departments. In his time off, Bill enjoyed doing home improvements and splitting wood. His ideal evening was spent watching any and all sports (except soccer), while enjoying a cold beer. Bill retired, but due to boredom picked up a few hours a week at Freson Bros. It wasn’t until the last years of his life that he caught the travel bug with his first visit to Mexico. At the age of 60, he began learning Spanish, with hopes of selling everything and move to a beach in Puerto Vallarta. He did not have the chance to realize that dream, as he passed November 20, 2015 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary due to a sudden and massive heart attack. He will be greatly missed. Burial will be at the Rumsey Cemetery June 16th 2016 at 11:00 a.m. After there will be an informal memorial service held in Rumsey at the Wonnacott house (the old church), BBQ/Potluck lunch, bonfire and music to follow.

THOMASANDERSON

ANDERSON, Thomas Lennart

February 22, 1956 - June 3, 2016

It is with heavy hearts that his family shares his passing on June 3, 2016. Thomas Lennart Anderson was born on February 22, 1956 (60 years old) to Phyllis and Lennart Anderson of Rumsey, AB, their third child. Tom, from an early age embraced the farm life and eventually succeeded his father in the 1980’s, where he continued to farm until 2012. Along the way, he met his wife Karen Hansen of Munson and they were married November 8, 1986 and then had three children together. He was active in his community and was a long-time member of the Rumsey Fire Department and also volunteered his time on the Rumsey Ag. Society throughout the years. Tom, who always had a passion for flying, built his own Ultralight and it brought him many hours of joy. Family and friends were most important to Tom and he treasured the relationships that he had with his loved ones. Along with family trips, Tom and Karen started to travel together as their children grew up. Although he loved his time on the farm, he was looking forward to the next phase of his life in retirement, continuing to travel and to enjoy watching their children marry and start families of their own. In recent years he enjoyed taking road trips with his friends on their motorbikes. He always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile upon his face, and loved to tease and joke around. Hard working, loyal, compassionate and kind are just a few words that we could use to describe our Tom. Sadly, he was diagnosed with brain cancer in June 2014 and he faced this battle as he did all things in life - with grace and dignity. He leaves to mourn his wife of 29 years, Karen Anderson, his daughter Marci Nemetz (Jerritt) grandsons Jake and Breck, daughter Chelsey Anderson, son Justin (fiancée Kennady), mother Phyllis Anderson (predeceased by his father, Len), his brothers Larry and Jeff, and his sister Judy Mimnaugh and their families, along with a host of close in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
