It is with deep love and fond memories that the family of Lorraine Carol Finkbiner announce her passing to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the age of 81.
Lorraine was born August 7, 1940 along with her twin brother Lawrence in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan to Gilbert and Ada Beaton. Mom and Uncle Lawrence came from a very large family being the 9th and 10th children and they teased each other throughout the years who was the oldest. Lorraine liked to tell stories of her athleticism in her youth; how fast she was at track and field and what a great baseball player she was.
In 1960 Lorraine met the love of her life Bill Finkbiner and they were married December 16, 1961 and recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Lorraine and Bill raised 5 handsome boys who all inherited her sharp wit and strong work ethic.
Mom will be fondly remembered for her generousity and welcoming nature. Mom served many years in the restaurant business and will always be known for taking good care of her customers. She would arrive at the restaurant well before it was scheduled to open for her loyal customers who had to be on the road early. She loved to have coffee with her friends and was always up for a game of cards or dominos.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents Gilbert & Ada Beaton, brothers Clarence Beaton and Johnny Beaton, sisters Viola Petch, Irene Ayers, Myrtle Warren and Mabel Both, and granddaughter Jessica Finkbiner.

John 14:1-3
Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.

CLOZZA
Gordon

January 21, 1944 - July 20, 2022

Gordon was born in Drumheller, Alberta on January 21, 1944. Living in a house that had the badlands for a backyard provided the perfect setting for a young boy who loved to climb hills and explore the prairies. From a young age, Gordon was curious about the birds and animals living all around him. Many of his adventures resulted in the rescue of injured birds and rodents which were brought home to be mended. Anything from a robin’s egg to an owl with an injured wing could show up in the family backyard.
At a time when trees were still considered precious, he developed a fascination for the intricate engineering involved in the construction of bird nests, often marvelling at the innate ability of individual species to always duplicate. He also acquired a life-long capacity to patiently wait for hours observing bird activity until he was certain of the location of a nest...and he was rarely wrong.
A life-long love of baseball was also developed in this valley community which offered competitive playing fields, drawing appreciative fans over the summer months. Gordon was an accomplished player with a wicked arm.

Upon completion of high school, Gordon attended the U of A in Edmonton and graduated in 1966, at the age of 22, with degrees in arts and law. This was followed by a marriage to Pat Schorn and a move to Calgary where Gordon was offered an articling position with the law firm Fleming Kambeitz.
Throughout this time, Gordon’s love for the Drumheller Valley never waned. The badlands landscape, the river valley, the beauty of the trees and bush drew him back so that after he was called to the Bar, he and Pat moved back to Drumheller where he joined the Bob Ross firm.
This eventually became Ross Clozza, a multi-faceted, successful law firm, providing at various times, both prosecutorial and defence services.
In 1979 Gordon was appointed to the Provincial Court of Alberta, making him one of the youngest judges in the province to achieve this recognition. He served on the bench fr m 1979 to 2002 at which time he retired but was retained in a supernumerary role for approximately 10 more years.
During this time, after his separation from Pat, Gordon joined his life with Sharon Clark whom he met in approximately 1980 and married in 1993.
The character building experiences from Gordon’s youth supported him throughout his life as a lawyer, judge and for the duration of his subsequent retirement. As time progressed, Gordon became an avid fisherman, hunter, and was forever a baseball enthusiast. He and Sharon continued to be strong supporters of the Drumheller community in which they lived, and continue to love.

He spent many years enjoying the peace and quiet from their cabin on Fish Lake where he was able to enjoy watching moose, deer, antelope, fox, the occasional badger (to mention only a few) and, of course, the hundreds of birds that abound at the lake.
Gordon is survived by his wife Sharon Clark; sister Louise Clozza and her husband Bruce Ball; and by Pat Stevenson (Schorn).
As well, Gordon’s memory and love will live on in his three daughters: Tina (Corry), Kim (Derek), and Brandi (Chris); along with 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Sharon Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Drumheller, Alberta.
Flowers gratefully declined. Please consider making a donation in Gordon’s name to a charity of your choice, or to DARTS Drumheller or the Drumheller Humane Society.

August 5, 2022

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Deborah Lee MacPherson of Strathmore, Alberta, at the age of 65 years.

She will be forever missed by her husband of 43 years, Duncan; children Alex (Tara), Robert, and Rory (Samantha); grandchildren Zavien, Oliver, Rowan, Evelyn, Gyda, and Hilde; her brother, sister, many nephews, nieces, aunt, uncle, in-laws, and many friends and associates. Deborah was a passionate lover of animals, books, and music. She attended countless live shows showcasing some of her favorite artists; the most important, of course, were her kids and grand kids concerts and plays. She had many pets over the years who were loved very much. Her home was filled with music, books, pets, and love.
Deborah loved her family with a fiery passion. She sacrificed and worked tirelessly for her children and especially her grandchildren as they grew, always available for hugs, snuggles, and a good read to them from their favorite story books. Deborah would often be found curled up with one or more of her grandchildren by her side, going for a walk to the park, or in the kitchen making food for her family, or chocolate chip cookies to keep the cookie jar full.
Well, Deborah Lee MacPherson, the cookie jar is full and will forever be that way with the help of family and friends. We’ll tend to it from now on. You have a rest right now where you are, a place where love, peace, and beauty surround you forever. Farewell Sweet Child.
Many thanks to the staff at the Strathmore Hospital, our Alberta Ambulance Services, the staff at Tudor Manor Long Term Care in Okotoks, and the staff at the A.L.S. Society of Alberta. Your compassion, love, understanding, and kindness are to your credit. Thank you again.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Wheatland Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m. A gathering for friends and family will follow at Strathmore Station from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the ALS Society of Alberta (www.alsab.ca/donate).

GALLION
James (Jimmy) Ray

June 22, 1969 - August 1, 2022

It is with great sadness and broken hearts that Jimmy’s family announces his sudden passing in Stettler, Alberta on Monday, August 01, 2022 at the age of 53 years. Jimmy was born at the Drumheller Hospital on June 22, 1969.
In his youth he loved to play Hockey and Baseball…but the best sport was having his friends come to visit. They would roam the hills of Cambria dirt biking or playing silly games. Dirt biking got Jimmy interested in motorcycling. The day he bought his Harley was one of his proudest days, you would have thought he won the lottery. Later in life he took an interest in golf and enjoyed the days he could challenge his best friend Cal to a game. Jimmy tried various careers throughout his life and truck driving was the career that he finally settled on and was the happiest doing. He spoke fondly of all the trucking friends and buddies he made along the way and was well known among them for his Roadside BBQ’s.
Jimmy had a heart of gold and would help family, friends or neighbors that needed it. His family and friends meant the world to him, especially his son Ben. Often, he would go without to help a family member or friend out. He always made sure that his mom and dad were taken care of and would call them 2-3 times a day to make sure they were okay. As his nephew Jeff said, “Uncle Jimmy was a kind soul with a great big heart and will be missed.”
Jimmy is lovingly remembered by his loving son Ben (Megan); parents Morag and Jim Gallion; siblings Elizabeth (Blair) Potter and Dorothy McConnell; nieces Alyssa (Josh) Clarke/Knelson, Jenn (Logan) Wall, Molly McConnell, Morgan McConnell; nephews Jeffrey (Romi) Potter, Jared (Richele) Potter, Jesse Clarke; great nieces Paisley and Ellie Potter, Lily and Harper Wall, Olivia Knelson; great nephew Parker Knelson; numerous aunts and uncles; cousins; ex partner Christy Jones - mother of Ben; and many friends who thought of him as a brother.
He was predeceased by his grandparents; John and Peggy Craig and Ray and Elizabeth Gallion; nephew Trenton Clarke; brother in law John McConnell.

Those we love never truly leave us.
There are things that death cannot touch.
Rest in peace Jimmy, we love and miss you.

A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at the Stettler Funeral Home & Crematorium on August 12, 2022 at 2 PM, followed by a time of reflection, refreshments and interment will take place in Omega Cemetery, Gadsby, AB.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Gadsby Omega Circle; Heart and Stroke or Charity of your choice.
